Rescued out of a van at Baker Beach, "Shasta the Disasta" came into the family in June of 2004. Originally named Mr. Palmer (for all you Phish fans), he rightfully came into his own name thanks to his strength, independent spirit, his very special dog-hugs (literally wrapping his paws around your neck), and wonderful ability to bestow focused and intense love out of the blue. Shasta (a.k.a. "The Boy") can be found teaching downward dog workshops far and wide, can jump-levitate up to 7 feet from standing, and leads guard dog seminars to other dog-beings in the Bay area. He reminds me to stay strong with a sense of love, the power in staying focused, and not to be afraid to be a badass once in awhile.
